Tell Me a Tale
Tell me an ancient tale
Of ancient seas and ocean sails
In which hearts change and nobile virtues prevail
Of ancestor ships
Of lovers lips which were forbidden to kiss
Of chaos and ruin and things that went amiss
Of the moor whisps
Of the nymphs which in the breeze whisper
Among the leaves of the trees
Of the mighty brought down to their knees
By the malice or greed of some of their deeds
Tell me the take of a great whale
That caused the cry of sailors, "Set Sail!"
Tell me of the children on a hill who carry a pail
Tell me of the evil witch's wail
Perhaps a story in which love truly prevails
Of wanders
Of drifters
Of old castles with ghosts that whimper
Of princesses in towers
Of maidens who turn into flowers
Of genies with astounding powers
Of chivalry and knights
Of the monster who terrorises the night
Of armies who fought in battle and those who surrendered and took flight
Of lands of old
Of the North Wind's cold
Of hero's that never grew old
Of the evil stepmother's scold
Tell me tell me Oh Mother Oh Father before I'm no longer young but old
